This is a handy little cable to have around for music lovers. It'll allow you to hook up your mp3 player (or your portable CD player or your grandma's walkman) to car stereos or external speakers that have the appropriate audio-in jack. All you need to know is that the cable has two "male" ends - the plug shown in the main product picture, which is basically the same plug as you'll find at the end of your earphones or earbuds. One end of this cable goes into your favorite mp3 player, the other goes into the audio-in (sometimes labeled "Aux") port of you car stereo or portable speakers. That's all there is to it, folks.

If you've ever been in a car but stuck without a car adapter for your mp3 player, and you really wanted to play some music, this cable would have saved the day. Personally I use it with my Bose PC speakers, which have an audio-in port next to the headphone port - this allows me to play music from my iPod without having to start up my ancient laptop and iTunes. Easy peasy.

In terms of physical details: the cable is matte black, about 6 feet long, and straight (not curly). It doesn't tangle and seems to be of solid quality. At 6 feet long, it's long enough that someone in the back seat of the car could comfortably hold the mp3 player when the other end is plugged into the car stereo.

At $3.99, this little cable is well priced and will do the job.
